Parish Council Meetings

The Parish Council meeting is the Council’s main decision-making and governance meeting.  It is normally held on the second Wednesday of each month, except in August and December, although additional meetings may be called when required.

All major Council decisions are considered at these meetings, although certain responsibilities may be delegated to committees.  Meetings are conducted in accordance with the Council’s Standing Orders and Financial Regulations, which can be found in the Parish Council Documents section of the website.

The Chair of the Council, or councillors acting in accordance with the Council’s procedures, may also call extraordinary or emergency meetings to deal with urgent matters.

Members of the public and the press are welcome to attend and may speak during the public participation section of the agenda.

The vast majority of Council business is conducted in public.  However, the Council may occasionally move into a confidential session where permitted by law.  This is typically limited to matters relating to staffing, legal issues, contract tenders (which are reported publicly once awarded), or other sensitive matters where public disclosure could prejudice the Council’s position.  The Council seeks to keep confidential business to a minimum and remains committed to transparency wherever possible.

Agendas and minutes for Parish Council meetings can be found in the box to the left and in the council archive.  Only the agenda for the next meeting is displayed.  Clicking on a meeting date will open the relevant agenda or minutes.

For security reasons, copies of minutes published on this website do not include the Chair’s signature.  Signed copies are available to view at the Council office.
