REPORTING A FLOOD
The link to reporting a flood webpage is Report a flood in Suffolk – Suffolk County Council This provides useful information on what to do, depending on type of flood, and urgency. As well as who to report it to. If it is surface water flooding of the inside of a property which is not an emergency then residents need to follow the instructions in the final drop-down session on this page. This will prompt a member of the Flood & Water team to be in contact, visit if appropriate and explain next actions and/or advice. Importantly they can record this flood, and consider what actions can be taken either through Suffolk County Council led projects, or by the homeowner themselves.
Its really important that the Flood & Water Team knows when a property has flooded internally as a result of surface water. They can then make sure their property is considered for any property flood resilience measures, as these are rolled out across Suffolk.
